Odes

With this one of a kind piece of art you bring the street inside. Odes is the graffiti name by which artist Paul Watty is known in the scene. The name Odes is derived from the dialect in which people speak in his hometown. Loosely translated ‘Oh, that is…’The special thing about this work is that it is the first time that Paul Watty uses cardboard as a material. All the material has already been used before. Which actually makes it a very ‘green’ work of art. While sustainability plays a role, the artist’s considerations for using these materials are primarily based on the message he and his fellow street artist often heard: “You guys are trash!” The materials used add an extra rawness tot the whole. The technique used is spray paint on cardboard. The frame is made of waste wood. Size: 110 x 110cm
